“Why Some Blacks Dislike”America: Bill O’Reilly
Below you will find a very interesting video featuring Bill O’Reilly presenting his views on the topic of why “some black Americans dislike their country”.
In many ways, his analysis is spot on. For example, it seems true that America presents more opportunities for blacks to move-up the socioeconomic ladder than any other country in the world. Increasing numbers of blacks are in college, business, the media and all of the other professions…including law enforcement.
O’Reilly correctly implores blacks to get an education, to avoid drugs and alcohol addiction, not to become mothers out-of-wedlock, to get married and take care of their kids, to avoid gangs and crime and to get a job and stay employed . All of this, plus perseverance and honesty are likely to allow individuals to escape poverty and to pursue the American dream.
It is sensible to encourage everyone “to do the right things” to accomplish their goals…and even to have goals in the first place.
But, unfortunately, simply imploring people who are trapped in their own self-defeating behavior patterns to extricate themselves from the poverty it leads to simply does not work very well.
What O’Reilly fails to condemn, at least in this video, are the governmentally dictated and imposed positive reinforcement systems that reward careless, irresponsible, selfish, illegal and dependent behavior. The effects of America’s Welfare State, constructed through liberal, socialist-leaning politics, has devastated black families and segments of all other ethic groups who have fallen prey to it.

What this means is that America has failed to handsomely reward appropriate self-help and pro-social behaviors within its low income population in all ethnic groups. The destructive outcomes for our own culturally destructive evolutions were perfectly predictable.
1. The now radical-liberal progressive Democratic party would gain great power by dispensing largess to indolent citizens to advance its self-stated goal of socializing (“transforming”) America.
2. The majority of America’s poor and largely uneducated population would then become “captives” of this radical Democratic Party in order to vote themselves more money and other material advantages.
3. A great percentage of America’s poor and largely uneducated population would increasingly elect to suckle at the government’s (i.e., the mandated tax payer’s) bountiful short-term and effortless welfare system, rather than to work-hard to advance themselves toward long-range, greatly more advantageous, educational and vocational goals.
4. I will venture to predict that this self-feeding, self-destructive cultural and political design will produce exponentially increasing rates of population behavior problems until social and economic chaos forces a return to more conservative social, economic and political values and practices.
5. Unfortunately, I fear that it will be to late to do this successfully.
It is essential that we not only encourage our citizens to take advantage of the many avenues of upward mobility available to all Americans, it is essential that we stop rewarding bad behavior and much more powerfully reward personal development and productivity.
