“In a despotic government, the only principle by which the tyrant who is to move the whole machine means to regulate and manage the people is fear, by the servile dread of his power. But a free government, which of all others is far the most preferable, cannot be supported without virtue.”

Samuel Williams, A Discourse on the Love of our Country, 1774

An Eternal Truth?

The Patriot Post: Voice of Essential Liberty
“If, from the more wretched parts of the old world, we look at those which are in an advanced stage of improvement, we still find the greedy hand of government thrusting itself into every corner and crevice of industry, and grasping the spoil of the multitude. Invention is continually exercised, to furnish new pretenses for revenue and taxation. It watches prosperity as its prey and permits none to escape without tribute.”–Thomas Paine, Rights of Man, 1791

Perhaps nowhere on earth, at any time on earth, has a government and its people been so alert and on guard to the forces of governmental tyranny as in early America.

Look at us now..I learned this morning on the news that our government is attempting to pass a national law making it illegal for businesses NOT to hire ex-convicts. The avarice for governmental control and intrusion has always gone well beyond tax matters.

“[T]o preserve … independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude.” –Thomas Jefferson, 1816

Thomas Jefferson knew human nature like few ever do.  World history has validated his statement before his life-span and to this day.

Who Do The Profligate Reward and Flatter, “In Order To Betray Them”?!

Who Do The Profligate Reward and Flatter, “In Order To Betray Them”?!

Founder's Quote Daily

“Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest, and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.” –Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833

The word “profligate” is one that is not often used, so I will define it.

Profligate: Utterly and shamelessly immoral or dissipated: thouroughly dissolute.  This definition is from my dictionary on my smart phone (the phone that is definitely smarter than I am).

You may refer to my previous blog (9/12/12) for a clearer understanding of the methods of betrayal of the profligate.

Who do the Profligate reward and flatter so they can betray them?

Just watch this video and you will find out!

“An unlimited power to tax involves, necessarily, a power to destroy; because there is a limit beyond which no institution and no property can bear taxation.” –John Marshall, McCullough v. Maryland, 1819

The takers will soon outnumber the makers….and it will be done.

Thomas Jefferson on State’s Rights

Thomas Jefferson on State’s Rights

The idea that each state is given the right to make its own choices about all issues of economics, social intercourse, law, and other matters of life and style (not delegated to the Federal Government by our Constitution) is pure genius!

This cultural design embodies God’s evolutionary plan for all creatures of the universe. There are many designs or adaptations that will evolve. Only a few are a good and useful advantage: These adaptations will tend to survive and multiply. A great many others will fail and eventually die out.

So it is with natural selection, the selection of individual’s actions, as well as the behavioral adaptations among our states and our nation (i.e., subcultural and cultural selection forces).

When the Federal Government dictates uniformity among our states, and that uniform adaptation fails. It is not “an appendage” that fails: It is the entire American organism!

Do You Get It!?

If you do, pleases pass this on to others.

“I consider the foundation of the Constitution as laid on this ground that ‘all powers not delegated to the United States, by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states or to the people.’ To take a single step beyond the boundaries thus specially drawn around the powers of Congress, is to take possession of a boundless field of power, not longer susceptible of any definition.” –Thomas Jefferson, Opinion on the Constitutionality of a National Bank, 1791

” Prepare The Principles, Morals, And Manners Of Our Citizens”

“Prepare The Principles, Morals, And Manners Of Our Citizens”

It may interest you to know that Benjamin Rush is credited with being the “Father of Modern Psychiatry”.

Indeed, he understood that our Republic required a special kind of citizenry: Learned in the concepts and values of individual responsibility, as well as the  ethics that are the very foundation of our special economy and style of government.

Fail to teach this to our children and The Whole of America will fail.

“The American war is over; but this far from being the case with the American revolution. On the contrary, nothing but the first act of the drama is closed. It remains yet to establish and perfect our new forms of government, and to prepare the principles, morals, and manners of our citizens for these forms of government after they are established and brought to perfection.” –Benjamin Rush, letter to Price, 1786

Exessive Taxation: Thomas Jefferson

“Excessive taxation … will carry reason and reflection to every man’s door, and particularly in the hour of election.” –Thomas Jefferson, letter to John Taylor, 1798

…..Except for those who are suckling at the governmental breasts.
And as this portion of the electorate reaches beyond 50%, the American Constitutional Republic will be lost.

“Let The American Youth Never Forget”

June 6, 2012

“Let The American Youth Never Forget”

One of the  many culturally self-destructive acts of our educational system has been its (OUR) failure to teach a profound respect and deep understanding of our own miraculous heritage.  This failure to teach the merits and unparalleled worth of our own culture ordains and portends its demise. Correct this or all is lost!

Founder's Quote Daily

“Let the American youth never forget, that they possess a noble inheritance, bought by the toils, and sufferings, and blood of their ancestors; and capacity, if wisely improved, and faithfully guarded, of transmitting to their latest posterity all the substantial blessings of life, the peaceful enjoyment of liberty, property, religion, and independence.” –Joseph Story, Commentaries on the Constitution, 1833
