This is the continuation of the newspaper article explaining my research and theories on America’s decline.

Part Four

CONTAGION

No one is raised in utter isolation, and people–particularly children–are influenced to an extraordinary degree by what happens to them and around them.

Just as people can spread a cold or the flu among themselves, so can behavior spread.

“That thoughts, emotions and actions can spread from on individual to others is a well-established fact…we have all felt the powerful contagious influence of someone’s yawn and also their happiness, sadness, fear or anger,” Mawhinney said.

“For example, individuals who were born and raised in the circumstances of the ghetto may move into a peripheral area to sell drugs. The greater availability of drugs in this new area will then lead to increased rates of addiction within that segment of the population. Increasing rates of addiction will, in turn, lead to the spread of incompetent and damaging behavior patterns such as juvenile delinquncey, robbery, murder, child neglect and abuse, family disorganization, child abandonment, intellectual impairment and underachievement, and more,” he said.

Although there’s debate over whether sex and violence depicted by the media lower sexual standards and encourage violence, the argument’s over in Mawhinney’s mind.

He’s satisfied that what we see, read and hear influences us, whether it’s news or fiction. He’s convinced by research linking acts of violence on television with increased aggression in toddlers. He’s particularly adamant about the influence of sexual depictions, or worse yet, the intermingling of sexual and violent themes. Sometimes he shows parts of “I Spit on Your Grave” to his students to show them–in stomach-turning detail–an agent of contagion.

“You can go to the video-rental store, in the horror section, and you can see simulated anal rape…and assault by a woman getting even for anal rape. You can see her cut the penis off a man in a bathtub with blood going everywhere and him shrieking…this is contagion,” he said.

As The population increases and as a greater share of the population clusters in urban areas, the density with which people pack together makes contagion a greater risk, he argues.

“I’m just suggesting that the more dense the population, the more likely that the alcoholic’s behavior will impact on more people. The child molester, the pedophiliac, will have hundreds of victims…I think population density is catalytic to contagion, period.”

2022 Mid-Term Election

An open letter to Huck (my submarine mate) and my readers.

I have read that the liberal, socialist, progressive movement started around 1920 with the philosopher John Dewey who was a professor at U. of Chicago.

Dewey wrote extensively to start moving education from a traditional liberal one (the three R’s, History, Classic Literature, Philosophy, etc., to a more utilitarian work oriented curriculum. Also, he influenced education departments at Colleges to teach student teachers for schools and universities to buy-into socialism and this has had a lasting effect. He was an atheist and pushed no-God in Schools and the Separation of church and state. He understood that if he could get separation of church and state; the separation of church and society would soon follow. Sure as as the devil it did and that was the beginning America’s downfall. But, that is much more to this sad story than can be covered here.

The 2022 mid-term “Red Wave” was certainly not that, and I am fearful of the consequences of this failure. I agree with several thoughts on this matter. The Republicans flubbed and did not get the vote out. They did not extensively use mail-in ballots and mules to deliver them and to match other common democrat irregularities. And they did not open early voting and greatly extend the voting voting opportunities. In short, they did not open easy opportunities for voter fraud.

The rest of the Mid-Term story is that too many voters are now dependent upon the government’s socialist wealth-transfers and other giveaways to vote conservative. Too many voters are plain stupid (i.e., they are not intellectually competent enough to learn the truth about America’s damages by any of the following failed political philosophies; radical liberalism/socialism/progressivism/Marxism). Too many voters are simply ignorant (i.e., they are smart enough to understand and identify the political pathologies, but they have not done their research on this topic). Too may voters are out-and-out socialists who hate our Constitution, founding Fathers, America’s traditional values, morals, ethics, and religiosity.

An increasingly large part of this problem is that too many of our voters have not been acculturated by our parents, schools and media as they once were and they now prefer to behave in ways that are hedonistic; loving formerly illicit activities prohibited by law and judged Sinful by our historical Judeo/Christian standards.

I was absolutely stunned by the accuracy of this prediction.

I hope you will read his prediction, written over 2 decades ago, and see what you think.

I will soon read this book in its entirety. I am left to wonder if Sagan predicted the possibility that science itself would be corrupted by politics, big business money and the media.

For example, recently emerging information suggests American citizens have been misled about the source of Covid 19; as well as America’s involvement in its creation and murderous release into the world).

Well, no! Threats to America are not funny.

But, around the world, ridicule and laughter is a historically successful propagandistic technique used by totalitarians, socialists and communists to smear, marginalize, and stigmatize their opposition; namely the advocates of freedom and democracy.

It is right an fitting that I, and other like-minded patriots of America’s Constitutional Republic, would finally give these political vultures among us a dose of their own poisonous medicine.

Medicines, never to be administered to our honorable representatives dedicated to keeping AMERICA ALIVE, FREE and PROSPEROUS!

U.S. Immigration Issues #2

The following video will provide you with the kind of information you must know to make rational, wisdom-based decisions that directly impact immigration, political activism and outcomes, cultural changes, and ultimately the viability of America’s Constitutional Republic.  

It is “politically incorrect” to question the qualities statistically associated with any race, religion, or creed in Post-Modern America. 

Those who would dare to do so are in for stinging rebukes, social censure, threats, physical attacks, and even the loss of their employment or careers; no matter the quality  of their motivation or intentions. The forces of our undoing have massively diminished our Constitutional First Amendment rights to free speech. 

This has been achieved over many decades by various political action groups, radical liberals and plethora of hotly unprincipled and litigious organizations fighting for power in an increasingly uncivil and raging culture war.

A cultural war in which any genuine concerns or worries leveled against one of the combatants is labeled as “Hateful” or a “Slanderous Hate-Crime”. Those who are so accused are then attacked, their ability to make a living is often crippled, or they frequently are dragged into court where they are financially ruined and defamed by our mass news and social media. When someone is branded a slanderer, a racist, sexist, homophone,  Islamophobia, an ageist, etc., etc., and the quality of their life is often ruined.

There are very good reasons to condemn slanderous and hateful generalizations about whole classes of people, to be sure! 

But, how does one differentiate between slander or hate speech, and honest statements about very dangerous predominant truths about a class of people that are capable of destroying our way of life, that of our loved ones; and perhaps even our very lives!

What is to be done when there is statistically validated evidence that a particular immigrating class of people is far more likely than virtually all other’s to to include many individuals who are bent upon wreaking crime, death and destruction upon America. This, while others of these immigrants, perhaps better educated and funded by their own political action groups, work to infiltrate our Constitutionally open and democratic political system. What is to be done when, once in power, they are then publicly observed to work feverishly to ” transform” America to A Theocracy, totally antithetical to our historical being.

Many in America are well past the observation that our socioculture is in a frightful state of decline. Now, they more commonly ask: What can be done to reverse America’s apparent death spiral?!

If we listen, there are many suggestions. But, it is not clear that any of them will work. 

Yet, one thing should be clear. America’s voters must be helped to way-more-closely vet those who are running for political office, at all levels. It is especially important to more closely vet political candidates from Islamic nations and the various smaller enclaves that spawn radical Islamic activists and terrorists. 

The very same is true of political candidates who will fight to establish socialistic/communistic practices in America, thereby further eroding citizen’s freedoms while constructing an all-controlling leviathan federal government.

The radical forces of political correctness and intimidation that interfere with the discussion of critical and factual information about “classes of people” needed to make wise and informed voting decisions must be powerfully rejected.

In America, the uninformed voting public, or the stubbornly non-voting public, will get exactly what they deserve.

Strengthen America’s historical First Amendment Rights and support the difficult discussions that must ensue, or prepare to experience the nightmarish unraveling of the American Dream.

Permissiveness+Neglect+Abuse in Children= Bad Behavioral Contagion!

Many Americans look upon recent developments in American politics in amazement. You can easily hear: America is falling apart! What the hell is going on?! What is happening to us?! Things are spinning out-of-control!

The truth is that all of the social chaos and fearsome anarchy, as well the rise in popularity of Marxist ideals and socialism, have been growing under all of our noses for many years.

A plethora of variables have contributed to the mess that America is now. What we are experiencing is a close approximation to complex cause-effect sociocultural downward spiral that has badly damaged almost all of Western Civilization.

There are a great many influences that singularly and in combination, bring stress and harm to the quality of a population’s behavior patterns. Such influences can be war, petulance, disease, famine, and natural disasters, etc.. Changes of this sort are classified as distress. On the other hand, changes that are considered good, happy or “beneficial” can cause more moderate stress and are known as eustress. Each kind of stress requires adaptation, time and energy to accommodate. 

Then there is a host of stressful advantages and disadvantages that arrive in the form of what may be called “modernization”; namely technological advancements in the area’s of communication, transportation, entertainment, medicine, economics, other time-saving and work-saving advancements. These cultural changes tend to increase faith in mankind and diminishing faith in founding religions as well as other cultural, social, economic and political beliefs and preferences. Many also make life less effortful and rewards more easy to obtain. These cultural changes can contribute to a weakening of motivation and perseverance within a population. Consider the anti-motivational effects of welfare programs and true socialism, for example.

It is important to add, to the previous incomplete list of influences and stresses, the variable of increasing complexity in governments. Governments tend to grow in power, scope and complexity until they become ineffective and moribund. Defunct governments loose legitimacy and increase the likelihood of revolution.

Democratic societies appear to be particularly susceptible to his chain of events, their life-spans are thought by many to typically last around 200 years or so.

It appears, as with individuals, all changes within sociocultures, good or bad, are stressful because they require that a population, political, economic and social agencies change and adapt their behavior patterns in order to meet new challenges.

An important source of change, stressing the entire sociocultural system is what happens to families and the children that they rear. It is important to note that families both affect sociocultural evolution for good or bad and are, in turn, themselves affected by sociocultural evolution, for good or bad. 

This brings us to the matter of Behavioral Contagion, defined as: The spread of particular behavior patterns within a population via scientifically validated Biopsychosocial mechanisms.

It is important to note that changes within populations stress the various social and political agencies that serve them. I call this level of behavioral contagion; Higher Order Behavioral Contagion.

There are many avenues of behavioral contagion. Biological influences include physical damage due to physical injuries, diseases, or inherited characteristics. Social influences include the more’s, folkways, and other behavior patterns among the population to which individuals are exposed. Psychological influences include the mechanisms of behavior change found within the scientific realms of Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Abnormal Psychology, Conditioning and Learning Psychology, Behavior Analysis and Applied Behavior Analysis, etc. They also include the perceptual, emotional and belief changes that are influenced within each domain.

Now, please learn about one very important current avenue of bad behavioral contagion in America.

How We Create Psychological Disorders In Our Adults.

(The following is an update of a blog that I originally wrote on 11/22/09)

So, how do we create psychological disorders in our adults?

We create psychological disorders in adults by creating them in children. We look the other way as children and teens are continually damaged while they grow to adults, most carrying their totally unnecessary and environmentally inflicted psychological problems with them. 

Charlie Manson once warned, and I paraphrase: These children who come at you with knives, I didn’t teach them, you did…they are your children!

Yes, the truth can come from bizarre places.

The facts are that we allow hundreds of thousands of whoever ends-up making America’s babies, to create the damaging conditions under which infants, children, and adolescents must live and suffer for at least 18 years or more. The damage is done during most formative years of these children’s and teens lives.

What most do not appreciate is that we allow parents, care-takers, and others to do damaging things, often irreparably damaging things, to precious helpless children and teens…long after we identify that they are being severely damaged.  The damaging parents (step parents, parent’s boyfriends or girlfriends, other family members, friends or acquaintances) are allowed to continue to do things. As a result these children can be psychologically harmed for life, injured, killed, or even motivate to kill others. 

All of this now should be painfully clear to all.

In the midst of  ongoing and massively publicized abuse, neglect, rape, and murder of our children; as well as murder of others by our children and teens, we still do not powerfully and effectively intervene to save them and prevent the ongoing resulting human ruination and carnage.

Some might assert that we are intervening and doing all that we reasonably can. But this is not true.

I know it is not true because, as a practicing psychologist I am a sad part of the system that is failing miserably. I have often called the Child Protective Services branch of our Welfare System to report negligent, drug or alcohol-addicted, emotional or physically abusing parents (married, divorced, or never-married)… only to see nothing done, or if something is done, it is too often fails, in a too-little-to-late attempt.

I have made recommendations to courts when divorced, or never-married fathers and mothers, one or both, are warring against the other. They frequently do this by childishly and hatefully propagandizing their children against the other parent. The frequently take their anger out on their children, or step children .This often goes on, one court appearance after another, over years of time; precious years of damaged child development with no resolution to help the children.

Based upon 36 years as a professor of psychology and 40 years of private practice experience and judgment, I have referred very seriously disturbed children and adolescents to inpatient treatment programs only to see many of them turned away because “they do not need that level of treatment”. In decades past, this almost never happened.

When things like these do not make sense, I have learned to attribute the failures to short-sighted increasingly liberal permissive policies and the greater value of parents rights and a disregard of the rights of our children in the court system.

I have also learned to follow the money/insurance…or lack of it, when it comes to mental health services.

I have concluded that all of these and other increasing social and political problems are a reflection of America’s unrelenting cultural decline. This decline is caused by a confluence of many damaging evolutions that are too numerous to catalog here. However, not the least of these many is a general decline in the quality of America’s families as well as religious influences in churches, homes, the media and society at large.

At 75 years of age, watching all of these systemic failures of voting citizens, government, agencies, churches, parents and the media to protect America’s children from psychological harm is very painful. It is the most difficult part of my life.

Some would accuse me of idly complaining about these problems while I do not offer any solutions.

However, I am doing all that I know how to do.

I am just one voice doing my best to define America’s massive child-rearing and acculturation problems. In other writings I have attempted to illustrate and explain these problems and their causes. I have done all of this hoping that finally, our society will develop the courage and dedication necessary to intervene early and forcefully to protect our precious children from the harmful outcomes we horrify most everyone now. 

Wake-up America!

Sadly, if we fail to save our children, we fail to save ourselves and there is much more suffering to come.

America Better Rediscover God!

The way things are in cyberspace, I cannot guarantee that this piece was written by Ben Stein. It sounds like something that he would say and I think that it is written by him.

No matter who the author is, I am convinced that what will follow is absolutely the truth.

When sociocultures enter their end stages of decline, they often try to save themselves by returning to what had once made them great. Generally speaking, this does not work and the they end in chaos and barbarianism.

You are currently seeing these themes during America’s present stage of decline.

Sadly in matters of sociocultural decline there are no guarantees. But there is hope because what America was founded upon were powerful Judeo/Christian belief systems and their superior codes for moral conduct.  All of this is exactly what America has lost to a markedly inferior secular humanistic movement and its ruinous political system…socialism.

I believe that a return to America’s founding religious and moral base is our only hope. Ben Stein agrees and I hope you do also.

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBSSunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:
I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat. 

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to. 

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.In light of recent events–terrorists attacks, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school .The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said okay.
Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with, ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’ 

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace. 

Are you laughing yet? 

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it. 

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us. 

Pass it on if you think it has merit. 

If not, then just discard it. No one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

America’s Decline: A Partial Explanation

The following is a brief summary of my research into America’s sociocultural decline. My attempt to understand this complex phenomenon has been on-going for over 30 years and it continues to this day.

What follows is a revision of a blog that I published in 2014. It is a small sample of my findings and the concepts that I use to make a “blizzard” of seemingly unrelated sociocultural events comprehensible.

I hope you will take time to understand my perspective on what is happening to America. It is happening to everyone and all our loved ones.

I cannot conduct my particular cultural analysis without the use of a value system. As you will note, my analysis normally cleaves to that of Judeo/Christian precepts. This value and belief system is arguably the most beneficial the world has ever experienced.

The first thing to understand is: CDP/TP x 100 = % SE

Cultural Draining Population Divided by The Total Population x 100 = % Social Entropy!

I define my theoretical concept of social entropy as: The proportion of a population that is not available to do work to sustain a socioculture, and  functions as a drain upon it.

Increasing population proportions of social entropy, beyond some difficult to estimate percentage, will destroy any culture and it is now debilitating America.

I label those who work very hard for delayed rewards, behave responsibly and avoid the many human foibles (immediately rewarding indiscriminate sex, drugs, alcohol, aggression, destructive behavior; or other self-destructive and irresponsible behaviors), that do immediate or delayed damage to individuals and our socioculture as the culture sustaining population. I call them “cultural sustainers” for short. The culture draining population is composed of  the hard-core “cultural drainers”, who are doing he harmful behaviors identified above, who are on the dole and have found ways to gain welfare grants from the government for doing very little or nothing. Among the cultural drainers are active criminals and those who are imprisoned.

It is important to note that children, teens, the elderly and the infirmed, as well as those on entitlements that they have earned, (i.e., social security and medicare, etc.), by paying for them all of their working lives, are a necessary part of this analysis because they justifiably require our support. Technically, they are rightfully a part of the culture draining population. Children and teens are an essential investment any culture’s future. To fail to support this costly investment is not only ethically wrong, it is cultural suicide. Without children and youth, there is no future. I do not want to put them in the cultural draining population, but for important and greatly beneficial reasons, they must temporarily reside there until they reach maturity and join the culture sustaining population.

It is important for a culture to love and appreciate their elderly. The retired elderly still frequently contribute to sustaining their culture. They may do volunteer work in many places, they may serve as aunts, uncles, and grandparents who help to acculturate children and youth.  They may continue to vote and make financial investments and may be politically active. This segment of society is typically unable to contribute as much time, energy and talent to sustaining their culture as they once did, but they can continue to provide important contributions.

When the aged become infirmed and incapacitated they become an esteemed and honored member of a special culture draining population and society is ethically obligated to care for them as humanly as possible until the end of their natural lives.

Please note that unethical cultures will find it very easy to rationalize forms of euthanasia ” in order to humanly assist the death” of what has become a costly population. The unspoken immoral motive for this action is very likely to be the politics of raw cost-savings.

As financial and material rewards allocated to the cultural drainers increase, the numbers of of these people can be predicted to increase as a proportion of the general population. This is so because they are more likely to be under-educated and therefore reside the lower socioeconomic class. Historically individuals with these demographics are more likely to reproduce at higher rates than the higher educated, more wealthy, working, tax-paying culture sustaining-class. This outcome is dramatically increased when the government allocates more material rewards to the culture draining-class for having children that they often cannot afford to care-for decently.

If you now understand the gist of this analysis, it is just this simple:

When the culture sustaining population’s money is given to the culture draining population for not working and having more babies, they will predictably have more babies than the cultural sustaining population does. The culture sustainers are just too busy getting educated, working, inventing, volunteering, making money, investing, paying taxes, raising their few children and behaving responsibly, to ever match the culture drainer’s reproductive rates and increasing financial needs.

Now the plot thickens:

The basic psychological principle of Modeling and Imitation, and many others such principles, insure that a majority of children raised by the culture draining, wealth-consuming, do-little or nothing parents, will identify with their parents. When this happens the are very likely to imitate their ways: How they think, perceive, show their emotions and how they behave.

Within the span only several generations (20 yrs. per generation), this complex and spreading relative rate of growth cycle of bad and useless behaviors (that I call “behavioral contagion”) can shift the socio/political demographics and power structure to the rapidly growing culture draining population. Unfortunately, this under-educated and under-achieving group will believe almost anything they are told by their political curators who promise them more free rewards contingent upon their continuing dependency and political patronage.

Put colloquially, how can any responsible political party compete with an opposing  “Santa Clause” political party?

The cultural draining population is generally under-educated in reading, writing, math, science, history and economics, etc., and they have been taught by their families and their government to remain dependent upon freely given rewards. Unfortunately, they are sub-culturally blinded to the long-term very aversive outcomes of their actions for themselves and for the socioculture at-large.  

Why would any psychologically informed person expect otherwise?

The political outcome for a voting Representative Republic such as America, or any other form of democracy, will be that increasing numbers of culture drainers will vote increasing numbers of their intelligent, but devious (even sociopathic), political curators into office. As a result, these political curators are in a position to take more from the culture sustaining wealth-makers to give to the drainers who, as a result, will certainly vote to keep them in power.

This culture draining/progressive-socialist-communist dance of sociocultural death is ongoing in America and elsewhere. To make matters worse, more responsible opposing political parties are induced to adopt more and more of their culture-draining political opponent’s behaviors in order to ever hope to compete with them.

Over-time the productivity of the culture-sustaining population will be overwhelmed due to their continuing political, social and financial losses.

Additionally, it is the progressive/socialist tendency of states to grow massive and inefficient bureaucracies and to impose regulations upon all aspects of the societies, as they strive for increased control. These inefficiencies further reduce the personal liberties accorded culture sustaining individuals and unavoidably reduce the quality of their lives. Also, the bloating progressive/socialist governments normally blindly impose even more of its controls and regulations upon businesses, further damaging its own economy. All of this stresses the entire population and stokes more bad behavioral contagion and the spread of psychopathology and other maladaptive behaviors within the general population.

The financial and social costs of escalating bad behavioral contagion catalyzes this  self-feeding population/governmental vicious cycle and accelerates the rate of sociocultural decline.

How can you not see this happening in America as you read this blog?

Of course there must be a mathematical end to this form of social, political and economic self-destructive, self-feeding cultural behavior pattern. When the money runs out, there will be hell-to-pay in the form of economic collapse and social upheaval. At that point in a culture’s decline, the government “is justified” in imposing even harsher controls on the population’s behaviors, as well as the various agencies and institutions and the stage is set for a shift to a more totalitarian government.

Historically, great cultures have shown indications of decline after around 200-250 years of life. Once the chain of events described here are well-under-way, experts note that no culture has been able to recover.

Reversing these trends will be the greatest challenge America has ever faced.

What Is A Reagan Conservative?

A Reagan Conservative looks a lot like a Classical Liberal, which best describes the social, political and cultural philosophies of our Founding Fathers.

All of this involves many of the features of the modern Libertarian and so-called Tea Parties.

These are the philosophies and metacontingencies (rules for population behaviors and rewards, as well as checks and balances against governmental tyranny) that out-performed and out-classed all cultures in the entire world.

The further that America ( We the voting citizenry and therefore our government) has moved away from these precepts and practices, the more we have fallen into decline.
