Peace and Islam?-2

October 8, 2012

My buddy blogger, Gonzo, sent this information in response to my Peace and Islam? blog posted on 10/7/12. You will find his complete response in my comments section.

Please review my last post in order to place Gonzo’s response to mine in the proper context. Also, I hope you will go to his fine blog located in my blog roll list.

The following is Gonzo’s information sent to my post:

Jihad in Islam started 1400 years ago, and has never stopped.

http://islam-watch.org/HistoryOfJihad/index.html

In recent decades, the tactic has been to create a large enough percentage of a population, create havoc, and then force a separate set of laws in that in area. Entire countries have been sheared in half to accommodate jihadists.

The Question of Morality: Again

September 14, 2012

The Question of Morality: Again

Once again, I return to the question of morality. A family cannot hold together without it. Nor can a Nation long stand in good conduct and viability without it.

Witness our own America, now debouched (our leaders are known for their lies and deceptions); now dangerous (we cannot go to malls or the movies, etc., feeling safe); now crazy (tax payers provide sex change surgeries for murderers in prison….what a great time “she” will have in prison!, etc., etc., etc.,); now in decline (if you can’t see it, your blind).

There there are a great many causal factors in all of these and the other  manifestations of our decline that I have identified in other blogs and in my other writings. There are way too many to identify in this single blog.

We can be certain, however, that our failure to teach the precepts of Judeo/Christian morality to our children has been a major and central catalyst to America’s decompensation to its current psychopathological state.

The Immigration Mess

June 19, 2012

The Immigration Mess

America has lost its mind. I want to go back to the days of Ellis Island. Yes, I do know that those were harsh times. However, the immigration policies of those days were closely controlled and much more focused upon meeting America’s need, rather than the needs of those wanting to migrate.

I suppose that some will be upset my apparent selfishness and heartlessness. Ok, be upset.

Then please explain to me how America can shelter everyone who has a desire, or a need, to come here to live? Do you think that America, now teetering on the brink of its self-destruction due to its suicidal thinking and actions, can feed and house the world?

Do you really think that people from  all cultures can, or will, assimilate into our own without destroying it by transforming it into the “Warring Balkans of America”?

For God’s sake, do you not understand that your culture is struggling to survive in a predatory world? Can you not see that you are living in a world of limited resources, in every conceivable category, in which the most powerful cultures are actively competing for them in a lethal game of survival and dominance?

Do you really think that any sporting team could play at championship levels, year after year after year, by simply letting anyone who wanted to join the team—just walk-in to the locker room without regard to their athletic talents?

Except in rare cases, the purpose of immigration must be to acquire the human capital (skills and abilities) that we need to survive and dominate as the rarest and historically most successful sociocultural species of all: The Constitutional Republic!

If we fail to do this , along with our other critical recent failures,  we will be eaten alive by the other hungry animals in the cultural world jungle.

The Age of Aquarius was a beautiful and artistic song from the late 1960’s. Do you remember the popular counter-cultural play, Hair? If you were to listen to this song, from the perspective of over forty years later, you might discover the truth: It contains the demented thoughts of a seductive, but self-destructive philosophy that still echos into the maladaptive practices of our present time.

Now, please read Thomas Sowell’s article on Obama’s most recent lawless manipulation to retain the Presidency. His reelection would be yet another example of how a dying America has lost its mind.

The Immigration Ploy

  • Thomas Sowell

Thomas Sowell,     Jun 19,  2012

Whatever the merits or demerits of the Obama immigration policy, his Executive Order is good only as long as he remains president, which may be only a matter of months after this year’s election.

People cannot plan their lives on the basis of laws that can suddenly appear, and then suddenly disappear, in less than a year. To come forward today and claim the protection of the Obama Executive Order is to declare publicly and officially that your parents entered the country illegally. How that may be viewed by some later administration is anybody’s guess.

Employers likewise cannot rely on policies that may be here today and gone tomorrow, whether these are temporary tax rates designed to look good at election time or temporary immigration policies that can backfire later if employers get accused of hiring illegal immigrants.

Why hire someone, and invest time and money in training them, if you may be forced to fire them before a year has passed?

Kicking the can down the road is one of the favorite exercises in Washington. But neither in the economy nor in their personal lives can people make plans and commitments on the basis of government policies that suddenly appear and suddenly disappear.

Like so many other Obama ploys, his immigration ploy is not meant to help the country, but to help Obama. This is all about getting the Hispanic vote this November.

The principle involved — keeping children from being hurt by actions over which they had no control — is one already advanced by Senator Marco Rubio, who may well end up as Governor Romney’s vice-presidential running mate. The Obama Executive Order, which suddenly popped up like a rabbit out of a magician’s hat, steals some of Senator Rubio’s thunder, so it is clever politics.

But clever politics is what has gotten this country into so much trouble, not only as regards immigration but also as regards the economy and the dangerous international situation.

When the new, and perhaps short-lived, immigration policy is looked at in terms of how it can be administered, it makes even less sense. While this policy is rationalized in terms of children, those who invoke it are likely to do so as adults.

How do you check someone’s claim that he was brought into the country illegally when he was a child? If Obama gets reelected, it is very unlikely that illegal immigrants will really have to prove anything. The administration can simply choose not to enforce that provision, as so many other immigration laws are unenforced in the Obama administration.

If Obama does not get reelected, then it may not matter anyway, when his Executive Order can be gone after he is gone.

Ultimately, it does not matter what immigration policy this country has, if it cannot control its own borders. Whoever wants to come, and who has the chutzpah, will come. And the fact that they come across the Mexican border does not mean that they are all Mexicans. They can just as easily be terrorists from the Middle East.

Only after the border is controlled can any immigration policy matter be seriously considered, and options weighed through the normal Constitutional process of Congressional hearings, debate and legislation, rather than by Presidential short-cuts.

Not only is border control fundamental, what is also fundamental is the principle that immigration policy does not exist to accommodate foreigners but to protect Americans — and the American culture that has made this the world’s richest, freest and most powerful nation for more than a century.

No nation can absorb unlimited numbers of people from another culture without jeopardizing its own culture. In the 19th and early 20th century, America could absorb millions of immigrants who came here to become Americans. But the situation is entirely different today, when group separatism, resentment and polarization are being promoted by both the education system and politicians.

Mamet On America: Please, Please See The Video

Mamet On America: Please, Please See The Video

Many will not recognize the name, David Mamet. He is an icon writer/producer of plays and other entertainment venues. Once a strong liberal, virtually a prerequisite for success in the entertainment industry, he has become a highly intellectual conservative.

As a result, you will find that he is stunningly articulate and powerfully informed regarding our political spectrum.

It is essential that America hear his views.

You may choose to skip the reading, though I hope you will not. But, please do not fail to see this video interview of David Mamet.

Also, consider purchasing and reading his new book mentioned in the video. It is a powerful commentary on the evolution of America’s Culture.

America’s Congress: A Marxist Target

May 2, 2012

America’s Congress: A Marxist Target

Robert Chandler reports in his book, Shadow World, that the center of our Government is rife with Marxist influences. He provides ample authoritative resources to bolster his astonishing allegations.

Did you know that your Congress had something named The Congressional Progressive Caucus, composed of individuals who’s political and world views most closely resemble those who are working for a Socialist-Marxist World Order? This is a very influential caucus and, with other like-minded representatives, they strive for progressive-socialist-marxist political dominance in the U.S..

I hate to break it to you my friends, but we have all been asleep in the watch tower and we had better wake-up right now.

The left has ridiculed and vilified Glenn Beck to such a degree that even conservatives are not comfortable evaluating his views. I challenge you to evaluate the following and form your conclusions on your own…balanced against the popular media’s liberal biases on the issues discussed.

If you do, I believe you will experience a large dose of cognitive dissonance: Just what America needs…and it needs it right now!

Please read the following and view all three of the videos, it takes a few moments for the videos to load.

“After America: Get Ready for Armageddeon”

April 30, 2012

“After America: Get Ready for Armageddon”

The title of this blog is actually the title of a book written by Mark Steyn. The book was published  by Regnery Publishing, Inc. in 2011.

I will recommend that you read Steyn’s book, given that it provides a highly informed and referenced prediction of America’s demise as a Republic and World leader.

This is an excellent book, if you can tolerate Steyn’s fascination with his own unique style of Katy hyper-cleverness while he portrays America’s seemingly inexorable evolution from freedom to socialism, suicidal levels of debt, and the continued swift erosion of all things that once made America a World power and leader.

The author’s own words will best describe the threat of our cultural demise:

The following is taken from Steyn’s pages 20-22.

A is for ADDICTION: We spend too much, borrowing from the future to such an extend its’ n longer clear we’ve got one.

R is for REDISTIBUTION: Day by day, an unprecidented transfer of wealth from the productive class to the obstructive class is delivering a self-governing republic into rule by regulators, bureaucrats, and social engineers.

M is for MONOPOLY: Old ruling Class: “We he People,” New ruling class: “We the People who know better than you frightful people…” America is ruled not by a meritocracy but by a cartel of confomicrats imposing a sterile monopoly of outmoded ideas.

A is for ARTERIOSCLEROSIS: “Yes, we can” ? No we can’t! By comparison with the past, America is already seizing up.

G is for GLOBAL RETREAT: As Britain and other great powers quickly learned, the price of Big Government at home is an ever smaller presence abroad. An America turned inward will make for a more dangerous world.

E is for ENGINEERING: “Celebrate Diversity”? The ideological homogeneity and social engineering of the nation’s schools would be regarded as child abuse in any other age. Aside from its other defects, it diverts too many Americans into frivolous unproductive activity, while our competitors get on with the real work.

D is for DECAY: Mired in dependency and decline, much of he United States will be on a fast track to the Third World. And, no matter how refined the upscale communities the elites retrench to, it will prove increasingly impossible to insulate yourself from the pathologies a decadent liberalism has loosed to rampage Godzilla-sized across the land.

D is for Disintegration; We are becoming the highly singular United State of America. No advanced society has ever tried hyper-regulatory direct rule for 350 million people. Will it work? Or is it more likely that increasingly incompatible jurisdictions and social groups will conclude that the price for keeping fifty stars in the flag is too high? Without the American idea, there will be insufficient glue to hold the United States together.

O is for OPEN SEASON: Do you find it hard to imagine a world without America? The Russians, the Chinese, and the would-be New Caliphate don’t. And on a planet where rich passive nations are defenseless while every failed state from North Korea to Sudan is butching up, it’s not hard to figure out what comes next.

N is for NUKES AWAY: addiction, Redistribution, Monopoly, Arteriosclerosis, Global retreat, social Engineering, Decay, Disintegration, Open season, Nukes away. Put them all together and they spell…?

Finally, from page 23…

That America’s animating principles should require any defence at all is a melancholy reflection on how fare we’ve already gone. Live free—or die from a thousand soothing caresses of nanny-state sirens.

Like I said, if you want a happy ending, it’s up to you.

Your call America.

End of quotes.

If you did not take time to answer the question…What “they spell…”?

It is ARMAGEDDON.

I Told You So! Damn It!

In earlier blogs (please look them up) I told you what was going to happen.  After admitting openly practicing gays to our military, it will be bogged down in investigative and legal proceedings over so-called hate crimes, hate talk, gay marriages and divorces, allegations of unwanted gay sexual advances, and a plethora of gay rights issues.

So comes the “gay flag” issue and ensuing military investigations. Boy, this is really important high-priority stuff!

The military is no place such absurd social issues, fraught with time and personnel-consuming preposterous distractions from its essential duties.

Can There Be Capital Punishment In A Just and Moral Society?

April 10, 2011

Can There Be Capital Punishment In A Just and Moral Society?

A review of the literature on the deterrent effects of capital punishment is not supportive of those in favor of capital punishment, even for the most ghastly crimes (rape, torture and murder of women and children, etc.). Such a review will show a small number of studies that report a slight deterrent effect and the greater proportion of studies reporting no effect, and in some cases, even an increase of capitol crimes associated with capital punishment.

The facts are, that at this time and under present cultural conditions, it is very hard to demonstrate any particular effects at all. Therefore, on the basis of the data alone, the most appropriate scientific conclusion is the null hypothesis.

The methodology of all of the studies involved are flawed in some arguable way and proponents of each side of this issue will debate on and on, with no way to prove their thesis. It is fair to say that those against capital punishment have a greater pile of flawed evidence on their side than do those who have flawed data on their pro side of the argument.

It is doubtful, that any time soon, science will be able to clarify this emotional topic. The social sciences frequently move at a snail’s wandering pace while sociocultures demand answers in order to survive the here and now.  The question remains, what is the better part of wisdom to do about the matter of the rape, torture, and murder of our women and children, as well as other lethal crimes.

http://deathpenalty.procon.org/view.answers.php?questionID=001000

Of course, there are religious and ethical arguments pro and con. Depending upon which religion and which religious document you prefer you may, or may not, find scriptural support for either position.

For the pragmatic minded individual, the cost factor can become pivotal. Here the evidence is also in favor of the life-time sentence without parole. Some reports suggest a three million dollar cost per execution and a one million dollar cost to maintain an individual in prison for the rest of their lives, with no chance of parole.

Others argue that there is no good and essential reason for such costs associated with execution and that it is our own ambivalence about executions that drives their costs so high.

http://deathpenalty.procon.org/view.answers.php?questionID=000983

Cultural complicity arguments begin with the premise that infants are not born sadistic, rapist killers,. Instead, various sociocultural events (sex abuse, physical abuse, abandonment, drugs, or genetic determinants, etc.,) that reflect the quality of the socioculure itself  have caused these horrific behavior patterns to emerge.

On the basis of my studies and professional experiences, I could not agree more.

However, it is then logical to conclude that if a socioculture produces such massively destructive  behavior patterns (because of its own negligence or incompetence) it should then rush to engage in self-management strategies that reduce or deter its own maladaptive features in the future.

To that end, then, the additional cost of capital punishment should be born by the incompetent socioculture as a form of response cost punishment, capable of motivating the search for cultural redesigns to primarily prevent such sad losses and outcomes for both the victims and criminals alike.

From the perspective of cultural complicity, the socioculture that admits that it is significantly responsible for increased sex abuse, rape, and murder rates within its population and then argues for the least expensive and taxing route to preventing more such events compounds it irresponsibility. This is like the alcoholic who finds a way to avoid the painful hang-over and is less likely to ever change its own bad behavior as a result.

Fear of executing the innocent is a very rational fear and I share this fear. As horrific as it is true, it should come a no surprise that America has sometimes executed the innocent. One unpopular counter- argument is that mistakes are inevitable, and no one ever said life is fair. “Justice will do its best, and though a minority of mistakes will occur, the greater good for society justifies the sacrifice”.

This argument may inflame the reader, but it is the same argument that is made in favor of almost all of the freedoms we enjoy (including the personal freedoms involved in the ways that our socioculture turns our precious infants into rapists and murderers at the hands of abusive and incompetent people). And of course, this mode of thinking is what we do all of the time when we decided that it is “in our own best interests” (or those of important others) to go to war and hundreds of thousands of our wonderful best young people are killed and maimed—Often without clear gain.  These deaths and injuries of the innocent are unfair, as will be my death and yours, at a time before we are “ready to go”.

Fortunately, given today’s new technology, concerns about executing the innocent need not apply to the question of capital punishment. DNA testing has virtually eliminated the innocent victim argument . Restricting capital punishment to only those crimes that are most damaging to the well-fare of our socioculture and citizens and only to those cases of absolutely certain guilt obviates this argument.

Therefore, I recommend that following:

1. Execute only those who, with absolute certainty, have perpetrated a capital offence. DNA evidence makes this possible, as does many unquestionably public and certain acts of murder, mayhem and terror.

2. Terminate appeals for most certain capital cases. The absolute certainty rule, negates the need for costly endless appeals that require decades of time and millions of dollars to complete.

3. The absolute certainty rule will allow for much more immediate and consistent observational punishment effects most likely to reduce the of rate of occurrence of capital offences within the population).

Note that terminating an individual’s gene pool is not to be considered punishment of that individual perpetrator, even though they will never do that illegal deed again. Punishment refers to a reduction in the rate of a  behavior following a contingent consequence, in living individuals.  However, terminating someone’ gene pool will certainly reduce the future frequency of that gene pool replicating itself  within a general population. So, to whatever extent a perpetrator’s genetic structure has contributed to rape and murder, that genetic structure is unable to make further such contributions.

The punishing effects, if they exist, will be seen in the rate of such future behavior in the general population. Psychology’s Law of Effect, and social psychological principles of modeling and imitation, and vicarious learning are invariably weakened by the existence of non-salient, grossly inconsistent and delayed consequences. Non-salient, grossly inconsistent and delayed consequences defines our judicial system. This alone can account for these most prevalent destructive behavior problems under discussion, as well as our inability to detect any deterrent effects associated with capital punishment.

4. America has increasingly failed to teach rules of behavior to its population. The following   clear and enforceable rules are essential to our collective welfare.

The following appropriate rules for vicarious punishment will most likely reveal any deterrent effects of capital punishment upon a population. By vicarious punishment I mean: “ it happened to someone else for doing X and I am certain it will happen to me if I do X.  That is a huge and certain consequence that I would hate and I want no part of it!”

Use the Absolute Certainty Rule (if you do it, you will suffer the ultimate consequence). This rule implies yet another essential rule. Use the Consistency Rule (everyone who does it will suffer the same ultimate consequence–there will be no exceptions). Also, use the Immediacy Rule (With proof- positive, you will suffer the ultimate consequence very swiftly). Changes within our legal system can eliminate appeals for proof-positive cases. Capital punishment can then be administered within a matter of weeks……not self-defeating decades!
Other considerations

I judge a person by his or her actions. Yes, I said the word Judge. I judge whether their actions are helpful or harmful to themselves and others. You do the same all of the time, whether you wish to admit it or not.

I also judge sociocultures in the same way. A culture that values the life of a child-molester, torturer, and killer as much as it values the life of an innocent dead woman or child is a culture that will suffer more innocent dead women and children not less.

You may wish to argue that we value the life of the child more than the life of the murderer. But word value (though it can be defined negatively)  is an abstraction that needs a behavioral definition. If a value is defined behaviorally, I think you are wrong.

A value is best defined as what an individual or society will do to work,  or pay positive reinforcers,  to achieve a goal. If we work to preserve and sustain the life of a predatory murderer harder ( with our effort and money) than we did to preserve the lives of those who have been raped, tortured, and murdered, we demonstrably value the lives of the perpetrators more than the victims: Our collective behavior tells an empirical  truth about our value system that words cannot obscure.

I believe that well-defined, universally understood,  swift and certain capital punishment will most likely show deterrent effects.

If it does not, from a philosophical and ethical perspective, I would probably still have to support capital punishment for the murderous crimes that I have described.

You could call that vengeance, if you wish.  But vengance appears to poison the vengeful and I want none of that.

I would simply call it justice.

I would do this very sadly, of course.

I really did wish to live my life in a different kind of world.

Teens Having Less Sex?

March 11, 2011

Teens Having Less Sex?

I doubt that very much. Compared to when?

Tell that to the greying graduated highschool classes of 1960!

Whether teen sex has gone up or down a few percentage points over the past few decades does not obscure the fact that our socioculture is in deep trouble because of our pornographic, soft-pornographic, and sexually suggestive portrayals that exist in almost all venues attractive to children and teens.

Has our educated public ever heard of Social Learning Theory: The research on human Modeling and Imitation?!  They certainly have, but have chosen to ignore the findings that children, and adults imitate those with power, celebrity, attractiveness, and those that most resemble themselves. Watch the media models that your children are watching and don’t be blinded by the changing norms of our so called “Post Modern Age”.

You will see just one of many examples of technology, fame and fortune trumping “old-fashioned” Judeo/Christian ethics.  The costs in damaged lives is incalculable and just one of many of our own self-managment problems that is bringing America down.

A recent government study showed that fewer teens and young adults are having sex (discussed in the South Bend Tribune on March 4, 2011).  Do you trust a government study, or a government report of any kind any more?

The study was based upon interviews with approximately 5,300 young people (15 yrs. to 25 yrs.). Do you wonder if 15 yr olds are likely to tell the truth about such matters in an interview? Do you think that sex between 15 year olds might be a greater concern that sex between 25 yr olds?

The study reported that those who said they never had oral, vaginal, or anal intercourse rose in the past decade from 22% to 28%. Do you wonder what the other 82% said?  Again, can you imagine what a similar group would have said 50 years ago?

The article went on to say “The findings are sure to surprise some parents who see skin and lust in the media and worry that sex is rampant”. Well, Moms and Dads (Grandparents too) there is no reason for you to worry. The Government (that legalized Pornography [Miller v. California, 1973] and taxes its revenues, as well as condoms, birth control pills, and other sex problem related services) says that our bad sexual behavior is getting better.
