I believe that America has not been in such great peril, as it is now, since our Civil War (1861-1865).
I further believe that a great many of our citizens have no idea of the gravity of America’s now rapidly escalating existential crisis.
You may recall the stunning news that the Soviet Union (The USSR) suddenly collapsed in August of 1991. It is critical to understand that the experts did not see the “last great revolution of the 20th Century” as unpredictable, as it was.
The experts still debate the causes of the sudden death of the Soviet Union, without identifying any specific cause. Instead they conclude it was a confluence of many factors whose synergistic effects produced the unpredictably sudden collapse of the Soviet Union.

- It was experiencing inflation.
- It had a protracted war with Afghanistan.
- It expended much wealth, materials and human energy to influence other states in the world.
- It was in a “Cold War” with America.
- It was experiencing pressures from liberalizing forces from within.
- Dissidents were clamoring for more freedom and dignity for the population.
