Beware of Creeping Collectivism!

November 30, 2013

Beware of Creeping Collectivism!

Our government has increasingly embraced a collectivist, socialist, paternalistic intrusive Statist mode of action. This political philosophy has increased in our sociocultural fabric since the last of the days of President Ronald Regan. This is not hard to see in the President Obama’s socialist/collectivist administration and it is not hard to see these attitudes growing within in the general population.

As a case in point, in my wooded neighborhood, a spontaneous collectivist movement foreign to the traditions of American independence and individuality has grown significantly over the past decade. It recently manifest itself in mass-Emailed complaints about home-owners removing trees, adding-on structures to their homes, or building large and expensive homes that “change the nature of our residential area”.

The following letter, now an open letter to anyone interested, was my response to those who wished to use some sort of “covenant” as a way to put unreasonable limits on home owner’s reasonable personal liberties.

Beware of creeping collectivism!

Hello all,

Sally and I Share many of our neighbor’s concerns about “covenant”-based limits on our liberty to make reasonable changes and improvements to our private property.

We moved into the this neighborhood in 1971. At 71 yrs., I have learned to deal with change by repeating to myself a reality-based rule: Nothing is perfect, nothing stays the same, and nothing lasts forever.

1. We live on some very valuable geography, perfectly located near all that is needed to live the good life in a small city.

2. People want to live in our little neighborhood. If they build expensive homes, our own property will likely increase in value. One day, we may be an entire neighborhood of such homes and that would not be a bad thing.

3. Sometime ago it was in the news that a falling tree killed a man sleeping in his bed. A tree is similarly positioned to fall on our bedroom and bed! Sally and I and our neighbor will cooperate to have it taken out. The tree surgeon told us that the tree could fall at any time, or could be fine for 30 years. I don’t care to gamble. Are we supposed to get expert witnesses to the tree’s condition and appeal for approval to remove our own tree to some “covenant board”?

4. Both of our homes in this neighborhood have been hit and damaged by massive trees; one fell on our first home in this neighborhood, and two more have fallen on our current home. We have had insurance terminated twice, as a result.

5. Now for the bigger picture. In my view, America is in a state of general decline because progressivism, collectivism, socialism (or whatever you wish to call it) has invaded our traditional ethos of individuality, independence, and personal responsibility, etc..

While we respect those who are expressing their concerns about the behavior of others in in our neighborhood, I must remind all of us that, to some reasonable degree, what one chooses to do with their private property is their business. We do not have a right to try and control their behavior because it makes us uncomfortable, we do not like it, or it fails to meet our preferred aethetics.

I do not know exactly what a “reasonable degree is”, but I am certain it has nothing to do with my taking my trees down or building a large home. Sally and I will certainly be upset and moved to action if someone builds a hotel in our neighborhood, opens a house of prostitution, or a home is converted to a “crack-house”. There are certainly limits to the traditional American live-and-let-live philosophy…but we are nowhere near those limits in our wooded neighborhood.

We really like our beautiful and friendly neighborhood. We do not wish to appear strident, but we detest the extreme communal directions in which some neighborhood associations have evolved: No American flags, no religious symbols, board approval and permission for changes to private property, and legal action and fines for non-compliance with a growing list of rules, etc..

I can assure all that Sally and I will oppose any contractual or covenant-based movement in that direction. Again, we mean no disrespect to anyone…just a kindly, but unshakable resolve.

Football Builds Character: Tears of Compassion

Football Builds Character: Tears of Compassion

In our prissy post-modern new age, football gets a lot of bad press. Yes, if street thugs and criminals are recruited into the game at its college and professional “pinnacle” levels, the reputation will be well deserved.

But if football is played with courage and good sportsmanship, under the training of excellent coaches,  it can be a wonderful source of character development for the young men who play the sport.

If you don’t believe me, or if you think it a game only fit for beasts an bully’s, I challenge you to see the following short video.

If you do believe me, and if you ever played football the right way, you just gotta see this one: You will burst with pride!

Thanksgiving 2013

November 28, 2013

Thanksgiving 2013

It is not hard to be thankful on Thanksgiving, or at any moment during your waking time.

All we have to do is think about our precious abilities; the things that we possess that make us happy, comfortable and secure; and most important of all….our friends and loved ones who we too often fail to appreciate and cherish.

Then think about how we would feel if we lost these precious abilities, valued things and beloved people.

What if they ceased to exist?  What if we ceased to exist?

It is certain that all of this will happen, perhaps with no warning  and when we least expect it.

We should really give this some thought. In fact, think of it often!

See, It’s not so hard to be Thankful.

God’s Blessings to you and have a wonderful Thanksgiving—everyday!

Virtual President Destroys Enemies of 2nd Amendment and America!

November 24, 2013

Virtual President Destroys Enemies of 2nd Amendment and America!

The forces of America’s undoing, namely our Federal Government, have been incrementally confiscating our personal liberties, in almost every conceivable way,  for generations.

One of their perennial targets has been so-called “gun control”.

The “virtual president”, speaking in the video below, reveals with sound logic and statistics, that our increasingly Marxist-Socialist Government is not interested in gun control, it is interested in people control!

The Marxist-Socialist operatives in our government know that they cannot get to where they wish to take America’s “transformation” as long as the people are fully armed. The know that armed America’s citizens  will not only protect themselves against criminals and rioting barbarians, but they will also protect themselves from America’s own Government run amok.

The following video is simply brilliant in its presentation of penultimate arguments in favor of our recapturing America’s Constitutional Governments. I believe the arguments are beyond rebuttal.

If you are a patriot, you will revel in this video. If you are an unwittingly propagandized (by College, mainstream media, entertainment media, etc.,) Marxist-Socialist, you may learn the truth.

If you are an all-out Marxist-Socialist ideologue you are revealed; and you are America’s mortal enemy!

Do not miss the following. You’re in for a big surprise.

Obama Flowers For You!

November 23, 2013

                     Obama Flowers For You!
The following was sent to me by a smart
patriot who understands that a sarcastic humorous analogy can sometimes illustrate the absurdity of Marxist social designs more clearly than serious discussion.
If you know someone who is in need of a remedial education about socialized medicine, more specifically Obmacare, this is a fun short-course.
For those already in the know, it is a real hoot and is still required reading!
VTM, 11/25/13
Receptionist:  Hello, Welcome to Obama Flowers, My name is Trina. How can I help you?

Customer:  Hello.  I received an email from Professional Flowers stating that my flower order has been canceled and I should go to your exchange to reorder it. I tried your website, but it seems like it is not working. So I am calling the 800 number.

Receptionist:  Yes!  I am sorry about the website. It should be fixed by the end of November. But I can help you.

Customer:  Thanks, I ordered a “Spring Bouquet” for our anniversary, and wanted it  delivered to my wife.

Receptionist:  Interrupting, Sir, “Spring Bouquets” do not meet our  minimum standards, I will  be happy to provide you with Red Roses.

Customer:  But I have always ordered “Spring Bouquets”, done it  for years, my wife likes them.

Receptionist:  Roses are better, sir, I am sure your wife will love them.

Customer: Well, how much are  they?

Receptionist: It depends sir, do you want our Bronze, Silver, Gold or Platinum package.

Customer: What’s the difference?

Receptionist: 6, 12,18 or 24 Red Roses.

Customer: The Silver package may be okay, how much is it?

Receptionist: It depends sir, what is your monthly income?

Customer: What does that have to do with anything?

Receptionist: I need that to determine your government flower subsidy, then I can determine how much your out-of-pocket cost will be. But if your income is below our minimums for a subsidy, then I can refer you to our FlowerAid department.

Customer: FlowerAid?

Receptionist: Yes, Flowers are a right.  Everyone has a right to flowers. So, if you can’t afford them, then the government will supply them free of charge.

Customer: Who said they were a right?

Receptionist: Congress passed it, the President signed it and the Supreme Court found it constitutional.

Customer: Whoa!  I don’t remember seeing anything in the Constitution regarding flowers as a right.

Receptionist:  It is not really a “Right in  the Constitution,” but Obama Flowers is Constitutional because the Supreme Court  Ruled it a “Tax”. Taxes are Constitutional. But we feel it is a right.

Customer: I don’t believe this.

Receptionist: It’s the law of the land sir. Now, we anticipated most people would go for the Silver Package, so what is you monthly income sir?

Customer: Forget it, I think I will forgo the flowers this year.

Receptionist: In that case sir, I will still need your monthly income.

Customer: Why?

Receptionist: To determine what your ‘non-participation’ cost would be.

Customer: WHAT?  You can’t charge me for NOT buying flowers!

Receptionist: It’s the law of the land, sir, approved by the Supreme Court. It’s $9.50 or 1% of your monthly income.

Customer interrupting: This is ridiculous, I’ll pay the $9.50.

Receptionist: Sir, it is $9.50 or 1% of your monthly income, whichever is greater.

Customer: ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What a rip-off!

Receptionist: Actually sir, it is a good deal. Next year it will be 2%.

Customer: Look, I’m going to call my Congressman to find out what’s going on here. This is ridiculous. I’m not going  to pay it.

Receptionist: Sorry to hear that sir.  That’s why I had the NSA track this call and obtain the make and model of the cell phone you are using.

Customer: Why does the NSA need to know what kind of CELL PHONE I AM USING?

Receptionist: So they get your GPS coordinates sir.

Door Bell rings followed immediately by a loud knock on the door

Receptionist: That would be the IRS sir.  Thanks for calling Obama Flowers.  Have a nice day and God Bless America

Black Idiot Looses The “Knock-Out” Game

November 22, 2013

Black Idiot Looses The “Knock-Out” Game

I am calling this 17 year-old man a black idiot because he is black and because he is an idiot. I named his race because it is highly pertinent to holding the perpetrators of these acts responsible for their behavior. At least now, the game is played primarily by black youths.

Some may call me a racist for this statement, but that fashionable PC slur is meaningless to me. Too often it is used to punish, into silence, those who are telling the truth and trying to cope with the reality of America’s troubled society.

By now you must have seen over and over again, the various videos of gangs of black youths playing the “knock-out game”. At this time, it appears to be a distinctly black “right of passage”.

The knock-out game assaults are perpetrated primarily against defenseless and unsuspecting whites, although a much smaller number of blacks and other races have also been attacked. Some victims have died. The attack videos I have seen show laughing, hopping and hooting black teens dancing excitedly around their hapless victims who lay motionless on the cement.

Nowhere do I hear outrage from the black community or its black leaders. Where are Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and most of all, where the hell is President Obama who was expected to bring improved harmony among America’s ethnic groups.

If black gang and the “gansta” knock-out culture contages to the general population as other practices historically have, soon we will see young white idiots also playing the knock-out game.

However, if white youths should play “the game” primarily against blacks, I predict that there will be hell to pay in America.

The barbarians are coming and they are many of our children, of all races.

The young man featured in the very short article below attempted to “knock-out” a legally armed citizen.  He was shot and lived to go to prison. T.V. talking heads are now asking, inanely: “What can we do about these terrible attacks against innocent people?”

As far as I am concerned, they have their answer.

http://www.wnd.com/wnd_video/teen-playing-knockout-game-gets-shot-twice-by-victim/

 VTM, 11/22/13

P.S. I do appreciate the two black men at the end of this video who  verbally chastise black youths for “playing” the “knock-out game.”

Also, I could be happy that this 17-year-old was not killed for his attack. But only if he learns his lesson and does not emerge from prison to a life of assault, crime and murder.

Tragic Consequences of Socialism

November 21, 2013

Tragic Consequences of Socialism

F. A Hayek has warned the world about the tragic consequences of nations adopting socialistic political/economic cultural designs.

What are the consequences of movement away from America’s traditional Constitutional Republic values to a progressive/socialistic philosophy and political methods and outcomes? The stunning consequences are emerging as I now write (11/11/13). The events and their details that I reference below, have been repeatedly in the current news media. If by chance, you do not recognize them, as well as their important associated details, I advise that you learn them now, before it is too late. A Representative Republic such as ours requires and informed voting citizenry or it will fail.

  • Fast and Furious
  • Benghazi
  • Massive Intelligence Leaks
  • The longest financial recovery in history
  • Expensive and ineffective economic stimulus initiatives
  • A transition from full to part-time employment for millions
  • Over 10 million out of labor force since 2009
  • Record numbers of food stamps
  • Record numbers unemployed
  • Record numbers on disability
  • Household incomes down
  • Unprecedented examples of intimidation and incursions into citizen’s privacy by the IRS
  • NSA’s (National Security Agency) “over-collection” of  domestic communications
  • Hints that the Obama Administration “fudged” employment figures just prior to his second election
  • Clear evidence that President Obama has lied repeatedly to the public about numerous important matters.
  • Clear evidence that President Obama has lied repeatedly to the public about Obamacare (The Affordable Health Care Act)
  • Obamacare with millions of insurance policy cancellations and dramatically increased, unaffordable for many, premiums.
  • Our 17 Billion dollar National Debt\Dramatic growth in the Federal Government
  • A Greatly divisive President
  • A plethora of ongoing scandals about the unscrupulous and/or feckless actions of the Obama Administration

Some might expect that these bad outcomes, predicted by critics of an increasingly socialistic American government might lead to a great political backlash for liberty against an overreaching and repressive government. Examples of such an emerging reactions are Tea Party and Libertarian group initiatives. But there is a danger that these and other political counter-attacks it will not be sufficient to turn the tide. As Hayek has explained, there are many people who will readily trade their liberty for security and if their numbers are great enough, the “consequences laid-bare” may not be enough alter America’s transition to socialism. This would seem even more likely as our current socialist-leaning government has imported and recruited millions of non-citizens and citizens (respectively) into various “entitlement” and welfare programs. As the portion of America’s population suckling at the central governments breast approaches 50%, hope of altering America’s decline through the popular vote must diminish.

Francis Fukuyama, in his 1999 book entitled: The Great Disruption, appears to be in strong agreement with Hayek and he  appears to have anticipated one of the most threatening problems for 21st century America:

While governments re capable of building social capital, they are also adept at destroying it. I noted in earlier chapters how states that fail to provide for public safety or stable property rights tend to breed citizens who distrust not only the government but also each other and find it difficult to associate. The growth of modern welfare states, the centralization of their functions, and their intrusion into virtually all walks of life have tended to undermine spontaneous sociability. In European countries like Sweden and France, there is what passes for a vigorous private associational life, but almost all of it depends in some manner on the government for subsidy or regulation; in the absence of the state, many apparently voluntary organizations would collapse. In the United States, localities and states lost power to the federal government during the period of the Great Disruption, and when the government intervened, it was often hostile to the goal of private association. The decriminalization of social disorder described earlier, carried out by the judicial system, it just one example of how the modern liberal state has been able to rob local communities of their ability to set rules and norms for themselves in the name of individual rights” (pps. 258-259).

Wake-Up America!

Stay tuned for more.
