Psychopathology can be defined as ways in which individuals behave that are chronically self-defeating or self-injurious. Similarly, behavior that does not increase the likelihood of reaching ones cherished goals can be defined as self-defeating, self-injurious or irrational. Also, focusing only on short-term goals to the exclusion of important long-term goals is irrational behavior.
I have been perplexed by the various odd, even bizarre, American-Culture-defeating and damaging initiatives spun, in rapid-fire sequence by the Democratic Party over the past four years. How could a political party be so irrational?
I have concluded that the Democratic Party is specifically appealing to the increasing percent of individuals within our population that are chronically self-defeating and self-injurious. The Democratic Party has an impulse control disorder in that they will do anything to retain power in the immediate future, with no regard to the deferred–long-ranged– consequences of their actions.
As the wise old saying goes: “Birds of a feather flock together”.
The Democratic Party, at this point in its evolution, is a largely psychologically disordered entity that appeals to a largely psychologically disordered electorate. It does this by enabling and positively reinforcing these individual’s psychologically disordered behavior patterns, in return for their votes.
The Democrats are able to get away with this because the immediate culturally debilitating consequences of their actions are very difficult to detect. However the long-rage consequences, when they arrive, are as clear and painful as they are debilitating.
As a registered Republican, it pains me to know that many in the Republican Party have also fallen into this aberrant behavioral trap
America had better wake-up to its own psychopathology before it is too late.
As a Professor Emeritus of Psychologist (36 years) and a still practicing cognitive behavior therapist of nearly 40 years; This is the way I see it.

Top 12 Reasons to Vote Democrat1. I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I’ve decided to marry my German Shepherd.
2. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn’t.
3. I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
4. I voted Democrat because Freedom of Speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
5. I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
6. I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.
7. I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about millions of babies being aborted so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
8. I voted Democrat because I think illegal aliens have a right to free health care, education, and Social Security benefits, and we should take away the social security from those who paid into it.
9. I voted Democrat because I believe that businesses should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as the Democrats see fit.
10. I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
11. I voted Democrat because I think that it’s better to pay billions for their oil to people who hate us, but not drill our own because it might upset some endangered beetle, gopher or fish.
12. I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my @#*, it’s unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.

SAYING AND DOING THINGS THAT MAKE US FEEL LOVING, CARING, COMPASSIONATE, NOBLE AND NEEDED CAN FREQUENTLY BE DAMAGING TO ALL CONCERNED. THE FOLLOWING FOUR PROPOSITIONS WILL CLARIFY MY MEANING.
1. THE PARENT WHO GOES TOO FAR IN LOVING, PROTECTING, AND DOING FOR THEIR CHILD IS LIKELY TO REAR AN INDIVIDUAL THAT IS, SELF-CENTERED, ANXIOUS, FEARFUL, DEPENDENT, AND HELPLESS. THERE ARE OTHER POSSIBLE OUTCOMES, TO BE SURE…BUT NONE OF THEM ARE VERY GOOD.
2. THE NATION THAT PROVIDES ITS IRRESPONSIBLY UNEMPLOYED, DESTITUTE, AND OVERLY-FERTILE CITIZENS WITH FREE MONEY, FOOD, CHILD CARE, TRANSPORTATION, COMMUNICATION, HOUSING, MEDICAL CARE, AND ENTERTAINMENT WILL RAISE A RAPIDLY INCREASING PERCENT OF THE POPULATION WHO ARE AS DESCRIBED IN PROPOSITION # 1.
3. THOSE NATIONS THAT OVER-PROTECT OTHER CULTURES BY SPENDING THEIR OWN RESOURCES TO SAVE THEM FROM THE PAIN OF FAMINES, PLAGUES, OVERPOPULATION, AND WARS CAN ACTUALLY RETARD THEIR DEVELOPMENT AND INCREASE THEIR LONG RANGE SUFFERING. ALL CULTURES MUST LEARN TO RESPOND INDEPENDENTLY TO THE IMMEDIATE CONDITIONS THAT THREATEN THEM OR THEY WILL PERISH. TO OVERPROTECT CULTURES FROM THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR OWN ACTIONS HAS THE SAME PREDICTABLE EFFECTS AS THE OVER-PROTECTION OF CHILDREN.
4. CULTURES LIVE IN A DARWINIAN, NATURALLY SELECTING WORLD, AS DO INDIVIDUAL ORGANISMS WITHIN ALL SPECIES. THE FEEL-GOOD CONCEPT OF A “WORLD CULTURE” MUST ACCOMMODATE THAT FACT. CULTURES THAT ARE CURRENTLY “FIT” (IN THE EVOLUTIONARY SENSE) CAN DESTROY THEMSELVES BY SQUANDERING THEIR OWN PRECIOUS AND DWINDLING RESOURCES TO TEACH OTHER CULTURES TO ALSO BE HELPLESSLY BLIND TO THE IMMEDIATE CONTINGENCIES OF THEIR OWN SURVIVAL.
THE CLEAREST SINGLE PROTOTYPE OF ALL FOUR OF THESE LEVELS OF MALADAPTIVE AND SELF-DEFEATING BEHAVIOR IS THAT CULTURE WHICH IS CURRENTLY NAMED THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

August 26, 2012What Is The Truth About America’s Oil Supplies?
I would be very surprised if you learned the truth about America’s oil supplies from me. The same goes for global warming. These are not my fields of expertise.
The “experts” don’t agree on such matters and the battle lines are drawn. With regard to oil, it is clear that if we do not have ever-increasing supplies for an ever-expanding American and world population (at least in the short-run), there will be local and global hell to pay.
Given that there is a finite supply of fossil fuels available on planet earth, there will in fact be hell to pay someday. Just when that day arrives is the issue and I doubt that anyone can tell us that.
Can you imagine a modern society under conditions of very scarce and prohibitively expensive energy supplies? If you will think about it for just a few minutes, you will become very uncomfortable…particularly when you consider that all of the old agrarian, pre-industrial, pre-information technology age self-maintenance skills are gone…or at least very rare.
Take some time to read and consider the following two items. You need information on this topic, though it will not be comforting.
Remember: The truth will set you free, but first it will make you miserable.
The first source of information is pro-oil development in nature, and it promises heaven-on-earth in oil.
The second opinion is from my friend, Darrel Bostow, Ph.D., who has studied the world’s energy dilemma and its likely effects upon civilization for many years. Rather than simply “admiring the problem” (as he puts it), or just talking about it, he has moved to a farm and is developing a largely,refined-energy-independent life-style.
Darrel argues that if we do not prepare adequately, we will be in for an inevitable world-of-hurt when the increasingly difficult-to-retrieve energy supplies become so costly as to become unaffordable. He warns that we should expect major social/cultural upheaval when this occurs.
I have tried to educate myself regarding these issues. From all that I have learned, Darrel’s perspective is spot on.
The only question that remains for me, is exactly when the economics of energy production will crush the status quo developmental trajectories of civilization. I will venture a guess that is will come gradually, like the infirmities of age…slowly dibilitating and eventually incapacitating as we sadly habituate to the process.
Of course I could be wrong about such matters, after-all, I’m only a psychologist, etc.,etc,….

The following is Darrel Bostow’s succinct reaction to the preceding article.
Read the book “The End of Growth” by Heinberg. Read every page and word. He isn’t God, but he is the most articulate and level-headed writer I have found about all of this. He is an outsider, not a member of government, nor the energy industry.
What you forwarded to me is profoundly biased in favor of commerce and continued growth. A rosy picture not taking into account many things. The Bakken reserves are two miles underground and are of relatively poor quality. There is no infrastructure for shipping the oil. This oil is a long way off. The “tremendous reserves” elsewhere in the country are not “sweet crude” but dirty stuff. We have picked the low hanging fruit. In the 1930s we got 100 barrels of oil for every 1 we used to get it. That ratio is now down to 14 to 1 and falling every year. One day we will reach 1 barrel to get 1 barrel and we will still have “lots of oil.” The issue is not the amount of oil, but where it is and the energy necessary to get it. (I share oil rights with relatives on land near Williston and none of us have been approached about drilling yes, BTW.)

I am asking you to do something that you will find most unpleasant: And that is an understatement.
The New Black Panther’s appear to be recruiting, organizing and gearing up for a civil war in America. Oddly, we do not hear a word about this from our Federal Government. Perhaps this is out of fear of sparking that civil war.
But that is a very positive construction of the facts, a construction that does not fit with the vast majority of the decisions made by the Obama administration. These decisions clearly and consistently move in the direction of destroying America.
