Throwing Out Moral Codes Lead To Barbarism

Throwing Out Moral Codes Leads To Barbarism

Whether one believes or not, by throwing out the moral codes that makes only broad reference God, and replacing them with no moral code to teach and hold as a desirable standard,  we increase bad behavior among those prone to barbarism without strong training. Yes, folks, those are teens and the rest of us.

Can’t you  see this?

The argument that such a harmless yet beneficial moral code, as the one forced out of this school by a child (propped-up by adults and a national political organization) would lead to a theocracy is a ruse and a farce.

One passage in the Bible that I cannot believe is; “The Meek Shall Inherit the Earth.” To that, I say, only when the atheists bury the meek under it.

When the politically militant atheists win, we all lose.

Please see the following for a clearer context for my remarks:

The question becomes whose faith based moral codes shall we use? Westboro Baptist, Sharia, Leviticus, etc. This becomes the problem when looking at faith based morals, there are many different sets of morals whose do we choose? If we take a more Buddhist (which is philosophy and not a religion) approach I feel we would do better. Most religions are designed to “save your soul”. This is there purpose. Buddhism was conceptualized as a means to end human suffering in this world, not the next. Our goal here is to improve the human condition. The best way to do that is to place the emphasis on this world and not the next.

      Brice,

Thanks for your thoughts. I wonder if you could look up Professor Dick Malott’s text Elementary Principles of Behavior and read about Spiritual Contingencies there. Your last sentance is a strong one. After 70 years, and nearly 4 decades of close study, I am not as certain of your thesis. Of course emphais on this world is a good idea, but comtemplation of the next has provided some wisdom regarding very useful (in this world) moral codes.

If you will seach my blog (window in upper right) under Universal Moral Code, you can see what I mean.

      Hope you are well!

I read about this as well.
I think the school can win, they just need to flow with the times a bit.

    How would this be:

    School “Motto”:
By the grace of our Highest Power, ….etc.

Then change “Amen”, to “Let it be so”.

I know that is not what you would like, but it is still the same wording, conveying the same principles, and removes atheist squirming points.

Actually, that would be far better than what is now happening with the total loss of a posted moral code to teach and respect.

If you have read my blogs on Faith-based moral codes, you will know that I consider it inferior (better than nothing) for technical reasons related to the Faith-related belief system.
