A Loving Gesture or Stealth Jihad?

For over 50 years America’s Presidents have hosted an ecumenical National Prayer Day at the White House. President Obama cancelled this National Prayer Day for 2009 at the White House.

I recommend that you read and important 2008 book by Robert Spencer, published by Regnery Publishing, Inc.. The title of this book is “Stealth Jihad: How Radical Islam is Subverting America Without Guns or Bombs”.

I believe that Obama did not “cancel” the 2009 National Day of Prayer.

  Frank, you are right, and I am aware that President Obama did not cancel the whole 2009 National Day of Prayer. He cancelled the 2009 National Day of Prayer at the White House. I checked this matter out on Snopes.com, before I did my post. See the last paragraph on the Snopes article.

  Sorry for failing to complete the thought…”at the White House”. I will correct that immediately on my post. I honestly have no interest in making President Obama look worse than he does.
  
  Finally, I have no problem criticizing a president during a time of war. For example, I criticized President George Bush for his failure to close our borders while he was at war. I did not criticize his war effort. I will criticize President Obama’s economic and domestic policies whenever I think it is appropriate. I will criticize him if he does not close our borders. I will not criticize his conduct of the war on terrorism so long as he identifies the terrorists, seeks them out and kills them. I am concerned that President Obama may not be doing that, but I will hold on that one for the time being.

    I’m glad that we’re on the same page. I wouldn’t use the phrase “cancelled” but instead “failed to publicly observe.” If I didn’t set aside time to pray on national prayer day, one wouldn’t say that I “cancelled National Prayer Day” at my house — but that I “failed to observe” National Prayer Day. And I can’t see that he didn’t observe it, but merely that he didn’t publicly observe it.
    
    Enough terminology — I wanted to direct your attention to what I hope is feigned cruelty to animals but Glenn Beck — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9nVpO1Dvfk — I thought it particularly relevant to you because he seems to be boiling a frog (but I suspect that he didn’t really) and that’s the title of your blog (Beck didn’t say what nationality the frog was).

      Well, Glenn and I certainly part ways regarding his savage attack on the frog! I would not kill anything (maybe a spider) unless it was trying to kill me, my loved ones, or America. Frankly, I love little frogs.

Matthew 6:1 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before men to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.

Matthew 6:2 “So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be honored by men. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

Matthew 6:5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full.

I believe Obama will still sign a resolution to honor the day as a National Prayer Day, but simply does not like the idea of using prayer for political showcasing. I can’t say that I find that to be some sort of subversive Islamic ploy to take over the world. In fact, I believe most past presidents simply signed resolutions. It was Reagan and Bush W that did the “show boating”.
